The client had a restoration plan to turn Barnhill stockyard into tree and grass areas.
The existing quarry haul road was regraded to slacken the angle of the slopes to a 1;3 gradient and then top soiled with 450mm to allow trees to be planted. The yard was de-compacted using a ripper and a covering of 300mm of topsoil was graded and firmly tracked in to create a seed bed for calcareous grassland areas.
Machinery used included a Zaxis 350, CAT D6N and Volvo A25 Dump truck, the duration of the job was two weeks.
